Main Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships are available for all kinds of students. Here are some popular types you can apply for through MyGeorgiaSouthern:

2. Continuing Student Scholarships

Already studying at Georgia Southern? You can still apply for scholarships each year. The university offers support for academic achievement, leadership, financial need, and special majors like business, education, and science.

3. State-Funded Scholarships

The Georgia Student Finance Commission helps students apply for programs like the HOPE Scholarship and Zell Miller Scholarship. These awards are for Georgia residents with good academic records. You’ll need a strong GPA and standardized test scores.

4. HOPE Scholarship

This program supports students who graduate from a Georgia high school with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. It’s available for public and private institutions across the state and helps cover the cost of tuition.

5. Zell Miller Scholarship

For students with higher test scores, like an SAT score of 1200 or an ACT of 26. The Zell Miller Scholarship offers more funding. You must also maintain a 3.3 GPA in college to continue receiving this award.

6. Georgia HERO Scholarship

If you or your parent has served in the Georgia National Guard or U.S. Military Reserves, this scholarship provides financial help for college. It’s part of Georgia’s effort to support military families.
